BBC Young Musician 2016 – And the winner is….

Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, 17, is winner of the 2016 BBC Young Musician. Sheku gave an intense, highly committed and extremely mature performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto no. 1 in E flat in the final of this year’s competition at London’s Barbican.

  1. Again, with all due respect more emphasis needs to be put on adults choosing to study music at a later time in life. Younger musicians have incredible advantages over adult musicians who have to face all the crushing responsibilities and still find time and money for practice, lessons and instruments!! You need to address this topic more often in your blog!
