- Do your practising and turn up for work. Discipline and routine allows creative freedom.
- Don’t stop when you are stuck. You may not be able to solve the problem, but turn aside and practise something else. A shift of focus often reveals solutions.
- Love what you do.
- Rise to the challenge of the music, not other people’s expectations of what you should do and be
- Respect the music, but don’t revere it.
- Take no notice of anyone you don’t respect
- Don’t constantly compare yourself to others.
- Be ambitious for the work and not for the reward.
- Trust your creativity.
