Coffee Concert for Macmillan Cancer Support

thumb

Today I’m giving a short fundraising recital at home for friends as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, an annual event which brings people together to socialise and raise money for Macmillan.

A number of my close women friends have had cancer in the last couple of years, and tragically one, Karen, died in 2010, leaving two young sons. I hope my tiny contribution will enable to Macmillan Cancer Support to continue its important work.

The programme for the concert is:

J S Bach (1685-1750)
Allemande & Sarabande from French Suite No. 5  in G, BWV 816
Achille-Claude Debussy (1862-1918)
Les soirs illuminés par l’ardeur du charbon (Evenings lit by burning coal)
John Cage (1912 -1992)
In a Landscape
Franz Liszt (1811-1886)
‘Sonetto 47 del Petrarca’ from Années de pèlerinage: 2eme Année: Italie
Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849)
Nocturne in E, Op. 62 No. 2
Edward Elgar (1857-1934)
Enfants d’un Reve (‘Dream Children’), Op. 43
Richard Rodney Bennett (1936-2012)
‘Four Calling Birds’  No. 4 from Partridge Pie

If you would like to support my fundraising, please visit my JustGiving page to make a donation, or donate by text PKTX85 £3 to 70070. Your support is very much appreciated.

Thank you.

In memoriam – Karen
